About This Route
Hangzhou to Huangshan (Yellow Mountain) is a scenic 1.5-hour ride through Zhejiang and Anhui tea country. Huangshan's granite peaks, ancient pine trees, and sea of clouds have inspired Chinese painters for centuries. The high-speed rail makes what was once a 4-hour bus ride effortless.
Which Train Should You Take?
G-trains take about 1.5 hours with around 20 daily services. The route passes through beautiful countryside — terraced tea fields and traditional villages. Some trains stop at Qiandao Lake (Thousand Island Lake) if you want to break the journey.
Seat Classes
Second class for 90 minutes is the standard choice. The scenery outside is the main entertainment. Trains are modern and comfortable with good window visibility.

Tips for This Route
Huangshan North station is 50 minutes from the mountain base by bus (frequent shuttle services). Don't confuse Huangshan city (Tunxi) with the actual mountain. Book mountain accommodation in advance if staying overnight on the summit — it sells out in peak season.
