Which Train Should You Take?
G-trains cover the full distance in 7.5–8 hours. For such a long ride, consider breaking the journey in Wuhan or Changsha. D-trains are not available on this route. A few Z-trains (overnight sleepers) still operate for budget travelers who want to save on accommodation.
Seat Classes
For an 8-hour journey, first class is worth the upgrade — the wider seats and extra legroom make a real difference. If sticking with second class, grab an aisle seat for easier movement. Business class exists but is expensive for such a long haul.
